Interesting short film by Sydney based photographer Keith Loutit as part of a series documenting 12 months of life in ‘Little Sydney’. He uses tilt-shifting, time lapse and probably tons of other techniques i’m not aware of to give an amazing toy-like feel to the final film.

This particular film is based around a training exercise held by the local helicopter rescue service, but you can find more on his Vimeo page.

GINA stands for “Geometry and Functions in ‘N’ Adaptations”, which basically means that designers from both BMW and BMW Group DesignworksUSA were allowed to throw out the rulebook. This is most evident in the GINA Light Visionary Model’s outer skin, which is made entirely out of textile fabric that’s pulled taut around a frame of metal and carbon fiber wires. The skeleton of the car is controlled by electro-hydraulic devices and can actually move and change shape beneath the fabric skin. For instance, the headlights of the concept can be exposed or hidden by the car’s skin just like blinking eyes, and the hood opens from the center as the fabric parts to expose the engine. This idea extends to the interior, where BMW designers have made visible only those instruments that are required at a certain time, while the rest of the time the same fabric interior “blinks” them out of view.

*Speechless* I don’t know if I should say it looks beautiful or hideous. Fucking brilliant, or bloody stupid. Oh noes! I’m in limbo!

Hints of 'time before Big Bang' :

A team of physicists has claimed that our view of the early Universe may contain the signature of a time before the Big Bang.

The discovery comes from studying the cosmic microwave background (CMB), light emitted when the Universe was just 400,000 years old.

Their model may help explain why we experience time moving in a straight line from yesterday into tomorrow.

Am I the only person who doesn’t want to know? I really do not.
